CNC Lathes: Fanuc and Okuma Controls

Skills Needed:

  • Strict adherence to Quality Control program with full traceability.
  • Machine Shop practices and knowledge
  • Blueprint reading knowledge
  • Geometric dimension and tolerance (GD&T)
  • Set up and operation experience with frequent change overs
  • Set tool offsets to compensate for adjustments
  • Mathematical knowledge to calculate dimensions and tolerances
  • Use of micrometers and other precision measuring instruments
  • Verify setting by adhering to customer blueprint specification
  • Document all inspection records and dimensions
  • Troubleshooting of non-conforming issues
  • Required to run multiple machines and multitask

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate Vertical Turret Lathe up to 60″ Chuck
  • Set up and operate Manual Turret Lathes and engine lathes
  • Blueprint reading knowledge (verify setting by adhering to customer blueprint specifications)
  • Use of micrometers and other measuring/inspection devices
  • Mathematical knowledge to calculate dimensions and tolerances
  • Document all inspection records and dimensions when required
  • Troubleshooting of non-conforming issues
  • Follow all company safety practices and rules
  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Employee Handbook and adhere to proper code of conduct while on the company property
  • Work hours required by customer demands and any shift
  • Currently first shift

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • must be capable of finish machining parts to customer blue prints and maintaining the highest level of output on machined parts
  • Candidate is required to machine, inspect parts, change tools and perform routine maintenance and housekeeping
  • Read and follow work order instructions
  • Machine setup without supervision
  • Operate all lifting devices
  • Assist with setup for other shop employees
  • Perform daily maintenance of equipment

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in centrifugal casting mold setup, charging induction melting furnaces, tapping furnaces, in pouring molten metal into molds, examines materials and products at various stages of processing for conformance to specification. Ensure process sheets, procedures and machine parameters are achieved to maintain quality and delivery expectations.

Responsible for all aspects of centrifugal bronze foundry including: safety, environmental protocols, production, quality, maintenance, personnel, training, material cost reduction, inventory control, production planning, scheduling, capacity planning, etc.

Requirements:

  • Ensure that employee attendance and work standards are in line with job requirements and quality expectations.

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Foundry Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair machines and equipment
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
  • Order replacement parts by filling out the purchase requisition form for the machines by selecting a vendor after research for part prices/availability, manufacturer’s specifications, warranty status, estimate approval or other related items for cost-effective investment
  • Perform general facility preventive and repair maintenance
  • Keep the machines, mechanical equipment and the structure of an establishment running during production
  • Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery and remove any scrap material
  • Repair or replace defective machinery or parts
  • Building maintenance
  • Melting furnace repair and relining
  • Operate forklift
  • Ensure all safety equipment are present and in proper working order
  • Follow all company safety practices and rules
  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Employee Handbook and adhere to proper code of conduct while on the company property

Advance Bronze Inc. is looking for a qualified individual for an Estimator role. This person will be responsible for preparing costs, time estimates, and lead times for all machined parts to meet the customer’s expectations and needs.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Create accurate quotes within our established system, ensure quotes are submitted in a timely manner and communicate with customers regarding status of quotes and following-up on submitted quotes.
  • Make proper cost estimations, taking into consideration such factors as materials, speeds, type of machine tools required, feeds and control system limitations based on customer drawings, process specifications, and material specifications.
  • Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame
  • Manage the overall activities relating to assigned project estimates including coordinating engineering efforts, consulting on design issues, solicit and review subcontractor proposals, review vendor quotes for accuracy, and all other activities associated with providing a complete and detailed estimate.
  • Attend pre-production meetings and any other meetings required for assigned project estimates
  • Works with customers and quality team to execute revision changes.
  • Ability to identify missing information needed for estimates and effectively communicate that to the appropriate personnel.
  • Researching previous performance of past jobs or similar parts by evaluating our job history in our ERP/CRM software
  • Work closely with machinists, quality personnel, design engineers, and management to develop successful proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in estimating parts in a machine shop environment, preferred.
  • A working knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, GD&T, Process specification, Material specification, and work procedures.
  • Must be able to function independently with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Minimum of Associates Degree or qualifying experience.
